HELP AND ADVICE
Arranging care for a loved one can feel like a big step. It is natural to have questions and even a few worries about how it all works. At Jesmund Care, we are here to make that journey easier.
From your first enquiry to settling into one of our homes, our team will guide you every step of the way. We listen, explain your options clearly, and help you find the right type of care to suit your loved one’s needs and wishes.
Every person is different, and so is every type of care. We offer a range of support across our three homes, including nursing care, dementia care, mental health support and end of life care.
If you are unsure which kind of care is right, we will talk it through with you. Our experienced team can explain what each option involves, what to expect day to day, and how we tailor care to meet each person’s needs.
You can also learn more about our approach on the Our Care page.
Understanding how care is funded can feel confusing at first, but we are here to help. Some residents pay privately, while others receive support from the local authority or NHS continuing healthcare funding.
We believe in complete transparency about our fees. Our managers are happy to talk through costs, explain what is included, and help families explore any funding options that may be available. There are no hidden extras, just clear, honest guidance.
If you would like independent advice, we can also signpost you to useful local and national resources.
We know that moving into care is a significant transition for residents and families alike. Our goal is to make it as smooth and positive as possible.
The process usually begins with a conversation. We take time to understand your loved one’s background, health, preferences and personality. Once a place is confirmed, we help with planning the move, making sure rooms are ready and any equipment or adaptations are in place.
When your loved one arrives, our team will spend time getting to know them and making sure they feel comfortable. We encourage families to visit during the first few days, bringing familiar items or simply staying for a cup of tea to help the new surroundings feel like home.
Families are an essential part of life at Jesmund Care. You are welcome to visit at any time, although we aim to protect mealtimes to give residents a relaxed dining experience.
We keep families up to date and involved through open communication and regular reviews. Many relatives also enjoy joining our seasonal events and family gatherings, which are a wonderful way to stay connected and share in daily life.
If you are exploring care options or simply need advice, we are always happy to listen. Whether you want to understand funding, discuss specific care needs, or arrange a visit, our friendly managers are here to support you.
Contact us today to speak with one of our team or to arrange a tour of our homes. We are here to help you find the right place, and the peace of mind that comes with knowing your loved one will be cared for with kindness, dignity and respect.
